"My Geocaching Journey" - 2xrcody

What started as a curiosity back in 2017 has turned into one of the most rewarding hobbies I've ever picked up. I found my first geocache years ago and was instantly hooked , the mix of exploration, puzzles, and hidden creativity felt like a real-life adventure game. Since then, geocaching has taken me to forgotten corners of my hometown, beautiful trails I never knew existed, and small moments that I'll always remember.

Over the years, life took me in all kinds of directions, high school, college, work, and now graduate school......... but geocaching has always found a way to pull me back in. It's one of those hobbies you never really "quit." The map just keeps calling.

These days, I'm back in the game full-swing with my co-cacher MarleyJ19, and together we've been tackling everything from creative hides to long event days. You can pretty much count on seeing us at local events around the Brazos Valley, we love meeting other cachers, swapping stories, and trading travel bugs that seem to have a mind of their own.

One of the highlights of this year was attending the Lone Star Round-Up, hosted by the Texas Geocaching Association. It was my first big event, and honestly, it blew me away, lots of creative caches, friendly faces from all over Texas, and a community that instantly made me feel at home. I came back with a full GPS, a handful of new trackables, and a ton of motivation to keep exploring.

Now, with a few new hides in the works and plenty more adventures ahead, I'm more excited than ever to be part of this amazing community again. Whether you bump into us at an event or out on the trail, be sure to say hi! We'll probably have a pen, a smile, and a story ready to share.

Happy caching,
2XR (Cody)
